Annual Chamber Burgers and Brew
5 p.m.-until • Location: Herritage Street Farmers Market area
Partnering with Mother Earth Brewing and ERA-Kinston Realty Group, we provide the best organic beef burgers and brew around! The Chamber Classic Burger features hand-shaped fresh burgers, cheese, slaw, mustard, ketchup and onions or you can dress your burger to taste! Complement your burger with a serving of hot sweet potato fries. First burgers come off the grill around 5 p.m.

The O'Neil Luxury Hotel, winner of the 2015 Historical Restoration Award, is the former Farmer's & Merchant's Bank that has been revitalized after being vacant for 30 years. The O'Neil will host lobby tours every half-hour.

Come on down to Herritage Landing and release the artist within, paint a pre-designed canvas depicting the festival and downtown scenes. The completed works of art will be on display in the weeks after the festival in downtown Kinston. All ages are welcome to participate.

Carolina Classic Cruisers Cruise-In

Any classic car owner is invited to show off their vehicle at a free event which includes special festival parking.

Find a Hog Bot!

Search for the Hog Bots! Find cute little Hog Bots hidden throughout the ArtsFest area to claim great prizes; you even get to keep your Hog Bot! Hog Bots are handmade by local artists and sponsored by The Overland Gallery and Community Council For the Arts.

Showmanship competition
7:30 p.m. • Location: Herritage and Caswell Streets parking lot
Don't miss this competition: The cook teams go all out to really "put on the hog" as they compete for the showmanship awards in this competition. Past teams have entertained festival attendees with all kinds of themes -- from singing cowboys to gambling pigs -- you won't believe that pig cookin' can be so much fun! A preliminary competition to the "Super Bowl of Swine," the Hog Happenin' will host more than 80 award-winning barbecue cookers. Sanctioned by the North Carolina Pork Council, the Hog Happenin' cookoff is one of the most prestigious barbecue competitions in the state.
